Jane Anson, Bordeaux correspondent for Decanter, distinguished Château le Virou in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation with 2 excellent scores.
Château le Virou, Vieilles Vignes 2017 : 90/100
Consisting of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, this blend of old vines draws all its richness from the clay-limestone soil that is typical of the Bordeaux right bank. Excellent value for money is ensured with our emblematic blend.
Château le Virou, Sublimus 2016 : 92/100
The 2016 Sublimus blend ascends to the level of the great names of the Bordeaux vineyard with 92/100. This top-of-the-range wine elaborated with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc is the result of plot by plot selection. After maturing for 24 months in 400-litre French oak barrels, Sublimus is packaged adorned with gold and purple packaging.
Scores that complete the excellent selection of medals gleaned by Vignobles Pierre Jean Larraqué in French and international competitions.
